Research Techniques

During our research we employed multiple techniques that helped us through the process.
Below we've listed a few and how we used them.

Survey #

We distributed a survey to reach a big audience in function of our research. The good thing about a survey is that people can just fill it in when they have got the time to do so. There is no pressure, no timer, they can do it from the comfort of their own home and they can do it completely anonymously. This makes the people more inclined to write down their honest opinions and experiences.

The results of the survey were very good. The data was clear and we were able to get some great insights from it. You can read them here.

Interviews #

While initially trying to do street interviews with 2 microphones and a camera, a few things became clear.
Our target audience wasn't on the street. This was mainly because they were inside as per Corona measures at the time.
But also, people did not like to be filmed at all, and even being recorded with only a microphone was too much for the few people we did talk to.

Next time we should probably make ourselves look a bit more professional, possibly make a sign and set up sort of a podcast area to invite people. We think this might have more success.

Because the street interviews were a flop, we did some online interviews. We wanted it to feel like a conversation, more than an interview where one asks a question and the other responds. This format worked great since we knew the people we interviewed. There was a friendly setting and helped get more in depth answers.
